A focused three-part flow
Backlog, Planning, and Sprint each have a clear role, so teams always know where work belongs.
Plan sprints in minutes with three focused modules - Backlog, Planning, and Sprint - plus live scope totals and flexible views for every planning conversation.
Why it matters
Sprint planning should help a team make a realistic commitment, not create another administration job. Taskonio keeps grooming, scope selection, and active sprint work in separate but connected modules, so the team can answer what is ready, what fits, and what is moving without stitching together filters or screens.
Backlog, Planning, and Sprint each have a clear role, so teams always know where work belongs.
Select work and watch task and estimate totals update while the team discusses what is realistic.
Use a dense table for triage, a board for standups, or a focused saved view for an owner or priority.
A closer look
01
Framework choice happens per team space. Choose Sprint and Taskonio configures the workspace around Backlog, Planning, and Sprint automatically. If the operating model changes later, guided property remapping helps the existing space move to Kanban or a flexible backlog.
02
Create epic-based or item-based views depending on whether the conversation is about initiatives or execution. Each module can contain multiple table and board views, with the properties and filters needed for that specific decision.
03
The Planning module adds checkbox selection to the backlog. As the team selects work, Taskonio updates the task count and total estimates, giving the discussion a visible measure of scope before anyone starts the sprint.
04
Once a sprint starts, the Sprint module concentrates on execution. The team can see completed work against the total, completed estimates against committed estimates, and the current sprint day without losing access to its table, board, and filtered views.
How it works
Organize work into epics and items, assign owners, add labels, set priorities, and estimate the work that is ready.
Open Planning, check the items the team wants to commit to, and watch task and estimate totals update live.
Start the sprint from the selected scope, then follow progress in the Sprint module using the view that fits the team.
Taskonio’s approach
Taskonio keeps the sprint model explicit while leaving room for each team to shape how work is displayed and discussed.

Yes. Guided property remapping helps the space move between Sprint, Kanban, and no framework while preserving supported work data.
The Sprint module shows completed and total tasks, completed and total estimates, and the current sprint day alongside the team’s saved execution views.
